Born and raised in the musical haven of Portugal, Marco Coelho discovered his passion for music at a young age. His love and affinity for music alongside with his ambition to succeed as a musician led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in the Conservatory of Amsterdam (CVA), where he developed his skills and acquired a profound understanding of music.

In search of new horizons and musical experiences, Marco relocated to the vibrant city of Amsterdam. This change in scenery proved to be a pivotal moment in his career, as he was exposed to a diverse and dynamic music scene that fueled his creativity and pushed him to explore new musical territories.

Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program, Marco is dedicated to further elevating his craft and contributing to the evolution of contemporary music. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the bass guitar, experimenting with innovative techniques and styles that lead him to perform in duo and trio settings, mostly with singers and drummers.

Marco's impressive portfolio extends far beyond the classroom and the concert stage. He has become an integral part of the music scenes in Portugal, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

As a session bass player, he has collaborated with a wide array of artists and bands, leaving his distinctive mark on each project. From the soulful grooves of Sydney Imani to the experimental sounds of Marge, Marco's versatility shines through in every performance. His musical talent also extends to the vibrant Brazilian music scene in London, where he regularly performs with the João Menezes Quintet. One of his most recent collaborations is with an upcoming Dutch artist Jasha Rudge 

Arguably, his biggest project involves playing with Portugal’s most famous singer Marco Paulo. As a result of this partnership, Marco has played at all of Portugal's most prominent venues, including Meo Arena, Super Bock Arena, Campo Pequeno Ring-bull, and Lisbon Coliseum. Moreover, he has toured extensively across the globe, from Australia and Canada to the USA. His work has been broadcasted live on Portuguese national television, solidifying his status as a respected and versatile musician in both local and global contexts. He never fails to leave an impression on both the audience and other performers with his professionalism, sound, and devotion to the show.

In addition to his session work, Marco Coelho is a dedicated teacher at a prominent music school. He takes great pride in nurturing the talents of young musicians, sharing his knowledge, and helping them find their unique musical voices.

With his innate talent for composition and an impeccable understanding of musical theory, he is poised to create captivating musical landscapes that engage listeners and fellow musicians alike.
